Brecon Beacons Travel Guide

The historic town of Brecon lies at the heart of this National Park which, though less spectacular than Snowdonia, has stunning country and views. Offa’s Dyke and the Taff Trail are popular walking routes and there is also pony trekking and other activites. The market town of Llandovery, and spa town of Llanwrytd Wells, are both good bases for exploring this Welsh speaking part of the country where there are a number of medieval castles and Celtic hill forts. Abergavenny with its canal, sits between the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
