Parts of East Anglia are notoriously flat and monotonous ,but the Fenland makes for easy car journeys. To drive between London and Cambridge, the M11 motorway is a fast direct route to the capital's airports and the M25 London circular.

The A14 dual-carriageway travels across Cambridgeshire east to west, from Huntingdon and St Ives, past Cambridge, to St. Neots. Haverhill and Saffron Walden are easily reached via the A11 and M11 from the centre of Cambridge.

Free car parking spaces are widely available across Cambridgeshire, including in the market towns Huntingdon and Ely. Cambridge operates an extensive park & ride system to try to keep the centre congestion free.

  • From London
  • 60 miles approx
  • 1 hour drive
  • Leave by A1134 Trumpington Road, M11 to the A406 to the A12 Green Man interchange and central London
