The Port of Harwich is easily accessed by road or rail. The A120 heads west from Harwich to join with the A12, providing access to Chelmsford & Colchester to the south, and with Ipswich to the north. Car parking is available at the ferry terminal.

Harwich International Train Station is adjacent to the ferry terminal and offers at least one train per hour to London Liverpool St, a journey time of around 80 minutes. Some direct trains are available although most require change at Manningtree.
