Burnham-on-Crouch is a renowned sailing centre famous for its ‘Burnham week’ regatta. It also hosts the annual Burnham Carnival with events staged for the whole of September culminating in a procession by torchlight. It is worth a visit during June to attend the Burnham music festival 'Riverfest'.
Oyster lovers will be thrilled with the abundant supply of fresh catch that comes in through the town’s colourful quayside. If you want to explore the surrounding area there is an attractive six-mile walk, which will take you along the Crouch to North Farmbridge.
