The Norfolk Broads & Coast region is easily reached from the UK and many overseas destinations.

Regular flights can be obtained to one of East Anglia’s International airports at Stansted & Norwich, from many UK and European destinations. To fly to the region from outside Europe, Norwich Airport offers regular flights to Amsterdam and Manchester, from where connections can be made all over the world. Alternatively the major airports at Gatwick and Heathrow both lie approximately 160 miles to the south of Great Yarmouth.

East Anglia’s sole port at Harwich is approximately 80 miles from Great Yarmouth, with regular sailings from Denmark, Germany and Sweden. A twice daily service also operates into the Dutch port at the Hook of Holland.

A variety of rail operators provides good rail links within the Norfolk Broads & Coast region, with good connections to London and most UK towns and cities. Local Buses and express coaches provide excellent coverage throughout East Anglia.

The region is well connected by road to the rest of the UK. The A12 provide access from London and the south-east of England, while the A11, A47 and A14 offer good connections with the Midlands and north of England via the A1(M). The A140, A47 and A149 create a triangle arrangement of roads within the region, connecting the coastal town of Great Yarmouth and North Walsham with the centre of Norwich. The A146 heads south-east from Norwich and travels towards the coastal town of Lowestoft, passing through the towns of Thurton, Hales and Beccles on its way. The A140 travels north from Norwich towards the northern coastal towns of Cromer and Sheringham passing through the town of Aylsham. The town of Fakenham can be reached from either Norwich or Cromer via the A1067 or A148 respectively.
