Although there are no ferry ports within the Norwich & Surrounds region, the nearby port at Harwich provides regular ferries to mainland Europe for those wishing to travel to the area by sea.
Harwich International Ferry Port
Located to the south of Ipswich, Harwich is approximately 70 miles from Norwich along the A140, A14 and A137. Easily accessible by major road and rail links, the port offers passenger and freight routes between the Norwich & Surrounds region and Europe throughout the year.
The port offers excellent facilities, including adequate car parking and direct routes to the vessels from the passenger terminal. Major ferry companies operate out of this port, offering twice daily crossings into the Hook of Holland as well as several crossings per week into Cuxhaven and Hamburg in Germany, Gothenberg in Sweden and Esbjerg in Denmark.
