If you must, go here with a large group and you might be fine, but in a small party of less than 10, stay away!
Five of us went to the Bavarian Beerhouse in December for my wife's birthday because we love German food. I knew that we should not expect a quiet meal, but I was not prepared for the atrocious service. The food was good enough, but I can wait to go to Germany to eat a good schnitzel and never plan to return to this place.
Clearly, Bavarian Beerhouse caters to large groups of office workers and they did not seem interested in such a small group as ours. I phoned ahead and asked if I needed a reservation, and was told that they could accommodate a small group if we just showed up. When we did show up at around 7pm on a Tuesday, they told us they could not seat 5 because they were far too busy, but quickly found a long bench table for us among the suit-and-tie crowd and the waitress repeatedly told us how lucky we were.
After quickly taking our order, the waitress delivered our meals after about a 40-minute wait, but our starters and mains arrived at the same time. We could live with that, but my order was wrong. The waitress argued with me and would not accept responsibility for the mistake, even though I'd ordered by dish number and I had asked for my chips to be substituted with mash, and the meal she had delivered did not come with potatoes at all. When finally a manager agreed to replace my meal, the waitress tried to make me feel guilty for her mistake by snidely saying 'so you're going to make me pay for your meal?'. The waitress's attitude after that was cool at best, and we just could not be bothered to order anything else from her. At the end of the meal, she very obviously checked if we had left her a tip and gave a venomous thank you because we hadn't.
In summary: Good German beer, Satisfactory food, Terrible service, Dirty toilets, Silly office party atmosphere.
Be warned!
