Shoreditch is now one of the trendiest areas in London, having been a run down East End borough on the edge of Hackney and the City for years.
The amazingly, unlikely comeback of the mullet (traditionally the preserve of footballers, and easily recognisable by its brave short-top-n-sides-long-in-the-neck look) probably owes itself to Shoreditch trendies.
It all started – and still starts - here and Hoxton Square and environs is the place to look out for the latest definition of Brit cool where mix-matching is definitely in style.
As you would expect, the place comes alive at night with great bars, pubs and clubs. The Bricklayers Arms on Charlotte Road is something of a local institution - it is heaving in summer, spilling out onto the old brick streets in all directions and is a popular pre-club venue.
