If military history is your thing, you will happily make the pilgrimage; Hendon is the home of the Royal Air Force Museum. The Museum stands on a site that has been known as the London Aerodrome since 1911, and owned by the RAF since 1925. With over 200 aircraft and even more engines, vehicles, and weapons, this is one of the world’s largest collections, dedicated to military flight.
They have several exhibitions too: Transatlantic Tales – inspired by the 85th anniversary of the first flight across the Atlantic; Milestones of Flight – chronicling 100 years of aviation history; and Our Finest Hour, which tells the story of the Battle of Britain.
