Winchmore Hill is full of 1930's housing, it is the dominant style with a liberal splash of Mock-Tudor thrown in for good measure; there are good amenities, golf courses, open streets and space.

For some people it offers a perfect balance, being 'in the city but not', and the main real criticism one could level is simply that it lacks real character or charm.

Winchmore Hill is the most attractive part of this area, a well heeled north London suburb. Aside from the vast mansions that must house pop stars, footballers or celebrities, there are Georgian properties, cottages, detached and semi-detached houses with gardens, tree lined streets and some attractive pubs; it even has a village green with nearby shops, a deli and cafes; there are plenty of beauty salons.
