Totteridge & Whetstone is really London in postcode only, although it is still served by London Transport, with a tube station on the Northern Line and bus links to the city. It is definitely of the wealthy areas stretching out from Hampstead along the famous Bishop's Avenue.
Mansions are popular and celebrities, particularly footballers, number are among the inhabitants. Full of leafy lanes, farms, large gardens, swimming pools, tennis courts, pillared porches. While some of it is quite vulgar, the area is known for its community as well and has an active resident's association with local schools favoured. People seem quite happy and get on with it here rather than shout about it.
Things to do include the 18th century Darlands Lake, Laurel Farm, the golf course. There are pubs and small shops locally in Totteridge such as the post office; Whetstone High Street has regular chain shops but for a major bit of shopping, Barnet or Brent Cross are the closest places.
