Mazza's bright orange canopied front stands out amongst Putney Hill's eateries. But that's not the only reason this modern Indian restaurant is worth noticing; the food is so good it keeps the young, trendy crowd coming back for more. Inside are bright white walls, spot lights and a smattering of modern art, while plain wooden benches laid with paper sheets for tablemats make you think of Wagamama. The prices are similarly reasonable too, and there's no service charge. Fantastically tasty starters include the tandoori chops and salmon tikka; popular mains include chef's special, marinated sea bass. All profit from alcohol (there are just three choices: Cobra, house white and red wine) goes to the NSPCC. Mazza, by the way, is an Urdu word meaning enjoyable or tasty. Good name.
