Streatham lies on the old Roman road that linked London with Chichester, and so has been inhabited for thousands of years. By Saxon times, there were plenty of farmers in the area, taking advantage of the rich fertile soils that are found round these parts.
Like so many other pockets of London, Streatham has enjoyed a period of renovation over the last decade. Good rail links mean it is less than quarter of an hour into Victoria Station.
The suburb has plenty to do for locals and tourists, it has a large ice skating rink where you can get expert training for all levels and ages, there's a go-karting arena which features a 6 metre wide 400 metre long track with pit lane and computerised monitors for each vehicle and there’s also a 36 lane bowing centre where there's also a bar and burger cafe. So you won't be lost for things to do in Streatham.
