To the north of Paddington is Maida Vale, a very residential suburb, where Victorian mansion blocks fill wide, tree-lined streets. The Warrington is a vast pub (and one time bordello) that has a Thai restaurant upstairs, and outside seating for those balmy summer nights. Another good spot offering a choice of bars and restaurants is Clifton Road.
Maida Vale is home to a BBC Recording and Broadcast Studio, used primarily by BBC Radio 1. The studio was where John Peel's Peel Sessions were produced, a regular slot in which a current popular band would play a set exclusively for the show.Little Venice, as the name suggests is canal-based.
The Regents Canal was built in 1820 to link London’s docks with Birmingham. However it was quickly superseded by the railways, and so has been spared to scars of heavy industry. In fact the stretch of canal running between Little Venice and Camden takes in some of north London’s best spots.

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.
The Burns Supper was started a few years after his death by a group of his friends; they held the supper to honour and remember Burns. The tradition caught on and the ritual of Burns Supper is now held all around the world.
His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
