The place to been seen messing about on the river. The Henley Regatta, which takes place each June, is a rather upper class institution, and is part of what toffs refer to as the summer season: a number of top-draw sporting events, where they met-up and quaff vast amounts of champagne and Pimms – and who could blame them? While no one would claim the Regatta has the drama or passion of a premiership football match, there is something quite appealing about sitting outside a welcoming hostelry, by the waters edge of this most attractive stretch of the Thames.
