Kew Gardens, or to give it its full name, The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, is located on the south bank of the River Thames near Richmond in the suburbs of south-west London.

The gardens boast 300 acres of botanical delights and feature landscaped lawns, greenhouses and formal gardens. Kew also functions as a botanical research centre and is home to the worlds largest collection of plant life.

  • Visitors can enjoy the various greenhouses with their displays of magnificent plants from around the world, which are kept in climate controlled environments. There are also two beautiful galleries at Kew which house both art and photographs of a botanical theme. With all of this beauty and variety, Kew maintains its place as one of the world’s premier public gardens.

Celebrate - The National Poet of Scotland

Robert Burns

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.

His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
