Bedford is an ancient riverside town, which provides the perfect opportunity for a relaxed stroll around a typical English town.

The town’s most famous son is John Bunyan, author of the literary classic Pilgrims Progress. The Bunyan Museum displays a wealth of information about the author, and the world in which he lived.

The Post Mill, near the village Stevington is the country’s only remaining fully working windmill. Continuing the theme, you will find nearby the fully restored Bronham Water Mill, with its own museum.

Wrest Park House and gardens is a 19th century mansion built in the style of a French chateau, with beautiful gardens designed by Capability Brown amongst others and features temples, lakes and bridges.
