The Stevenage that exists today has changed so much since 1958, it is known as one of Britain’s New Towns, though some local relics date from the Stone Age. The striking Gothic mansion, Knebworth House, is just out of the town, and though it is better known for the massive rock concerts that take place in the grounds, the house itself is well worth a visit.
