Didcot has always been a vital railway junction, so it is no surprise that it was chosen to house the Didcot Railway Centre.
The Didcot museum is next to the railway where you will find the largest collection of steam engines, as well as a rebuilt station, with original broad gauge track. There are also “Sunday Steam Days” in the summertime.
Continuing the retro theme in nearby Long Wittenham, you can visit the Pendon Museum, where you will find a wonderful model size recreation of a 1930s village, as well as a model railway.
