Tetbury is a lovely town steeped in history and can be found in one of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds, it lies approximately 12 miles from the capital, Cirencester.
In the middle ages Tetbury's market grew in reputation as a centre for the best in Cotswold wool & yarn, you can see evidence of this in the Market House, which was built in 1655, it is supported on three rows of big stone pillars, which was designed for the sale of wool and yarn. The market house is where the weekly market is today.
Tetbury has some beautiful architecture and if you take a walk down Gumstool Hill you can find many 17th century weaver’s cottages. The town also has a lovely abundance of antique shops and quality coaching Inns.
