Winchcombe is a largely unspoilt and attractive market town where you can still find a butchers, bakers and greengrocer.

In Anglo-Saxon times was the capital of the Saxon Kingdom of Mercia. The market place and town centre streets are well worth a wander, lined with beautiful historic architecture.

The towns main attraction is the nearby is Sudeley Castle once a retreat for Tudor and Stuart Monarchs. It has a fascinating history and an array of beautiful gardens around it.

Celebrate - The National Poet of Scotland

Robert Burns

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.

His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
