Market Harborough dates from the medieval period, and boasts a number of historic buildings, including the Old Grammar School, which is raised above the ground on oak stilts. To the south of the town is Naseby, scene of the critical Civil War battle, when Oliver Cromwell’s Roundheads trounced the royalist Cavaliers. For more information on this historic tussle, go to the Naseby Battle & Farm Museum.
