Atherstone is a small bustling market town with many attractive old buildings. In the centre of the town is the Market Place where you'll find fantastic 18th century buildings such as Station House and The Old Swan, which is Atherstone’s best example of a 16th century timber-framed house.
The town is notorious for holding the Atherstone Ball Game every shrove Tuesday; this is one of the oldest traditions in the country and has been held every year since the 13th century. No one knows where the game came from but it still remains a tradition with the locals.
Kingsbury Water Park is close by and is a fantastic day out for the whole family, the beautiful grounds feature 15 lakes situated in over 600 acres of Country Park, it renowned for it's bird watching and cycle paths.

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.
The Burns Supper was started a few years after his death by a group of his friends; they held the supper to honour and remember Burns. The tradition caught on and the ritual of Burns Supper is now held all around the world.
His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
