Matlock & Bakewell
Matlock is known for its thermal spring waters, and the glorious waterside properties of Matlock Bath. Set in the Derwent Valley, there is plenty of dramatic scenery; for some of the best views take a cable car up the Heights of Abraham. Bakewell is another attractive town in the Peaks, and is very handy for a trip to one of England’s finest stately homes: Chatsworth House.
