This series of tours at Nottingham Castle give visitors the chance to unravel the secrets and mysteries of the Robin Hood legend. On the tour Royal Forester Blacke Dickon (aka Robin Hood expert Richard Rutherford-Moore) tells of the real historic adventures and events that link our favourite outlaw to Nottingham Castle and to the city of Nottingham.
Taking in sights like the Sheriff's room in the castle gatehouse, Mortimer's Hole and the castle walls and fortifications, Blacke Dickon informs the audience of tales of life in medieval times and the violent history of Nottingham Castle, not to mention frequent references to our old friend Robin Hood.
Further Information
The tour concludes with a demonstration of medieval weaponry including swords and arrows and a chance for the audience to "knock on and off" with a real longbow!
Further Information
Blacke Dickon aka Richard Rutherford-Moore has written three books on The Legend of Robin Hood... 'The Legend of Robin Hood' and 'Robin Hood : On the Outlaw Trail in Nottingham and Sherwood Forest' and 'Robin Hood off on the Outlaw Trail again".
