The natural harbour of Hartlepool has long been County Durham’s main port, and the quay side has been restored to its 18th century glory, and is now a very popular tourist attraction. The Museum of Hartlepool has also been collecting plaudits recently, and was recently named as one of the 'most popular new visitor attractions' by the English Tourist Board.
