The campsite is just as the advertisement suggests. No frills and no disruptive behaviour. It is peaceful, tranquil and very well kept. It has hook-up, for tents also and the lady who runs the site is a Southern darling, lovely and very friendly and loves children. It has all the basics to give you a comfortable stay.My wife and children and myself have stayed here a number of times and had a great time, each time. Most people who would venture up to this area, would head into the Lake District National Park and whilst that is fantastic to visit, so is Brampton and its surrounding area. The picturesque market town of Brampton is a ten minute walk away, plenty of quiet pubs, cafes and restaraunts and the natives are very friendly. The town itself is well worth a visit and taking a bit of time to explore. The William Morris stained glass windows in the church and the Burn-Jones furniture is well worth looking at. Just down the lane from the site is a tiny very old church, with stunning grounds. You can gain access into the church by knocking on the door at the nearby farmhouse where they will give you a key.Within short distances are stunning castles Roman Forts, stunning scenery, a Monestory and geological faults that would have seen the country-side erupt in volcanic mayhem millions of years ago. Hadrian, when he built his wall on this 2000 years ago, to keep the marauding raiders out could not have picked a better site. Lovely site, lovely area, well worth a visit.
