The Yorkshire Dales Travel Guide

Snowy Yorkshire Dales - © Aidan O'Rourke

The Yorkshire Dales National Park has beautiful open farmland crossed with dry stone walls, windswept moorland and hills. Ilkley is the start of the Dalesway Walk, following the broad valley of the Wharfe past Bolton Abbey and any number of beautiful picturesque stone villages. To the west are the Pennines and Ribblesdale with excellent walking; the rock formations of Nidderdale lie to the east while north are Hardraw and Aysgarth Falls in Wenslydale and the rugged Swaledale with its timeless villages.
