The Yorkshire Dales in North Yorkshire England, are a special place with magnificent scenery, rich wildlife, cultural heritage and many fast flowing rivers, streams and upland lakes.

At Yorkshire Dales Fly Fishing I offer a complete one to one fly fishing experience for visitors and locals alike. I provide all tackle, permits, and licences, and my flyfishing courses are suitable for all abilities.

  • The rivers flow through limestone rock, which raises the pH value, providing the perfect habitat for the brown trout. Abundant fly life and good stocks of brown trout make the Yorkshire Dales rivers perfect for fly fishing.

Further Information

The Yorkshire Dales also have many fine lakes. These lakes provide typical upland trout fishing for both wild brown trout and stocked rainbow trout.

Celebrate - The National Poet of Scotland

Robert Burns

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.

The Burns Supper was started a few years after his death by a group of his friends; they held the supper to honour and remember Burns. The tradition caught on and the ritual of Burns Supper is now held all around the world.

His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
