Nidderdale has deservedly been awarded Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty status, and within the valley you will find a number of places to visit. The villages of Ripley and Pateley Bridge are both very attractive, and have a number of inns, tea-rooms and craft shops that attract people from far and wide. Brimham Rocks stand high above the valley floor, and feature spectacular rock formations that are said to resemble various animals, while at Stump Cross Caverns you can see some of the best subterranean show caves in the country.
