Travelling east on Wensleydale you reach the sleepy village of Wensley, which gave its name to the valley and was once the region’s principal market town though these days the only evidence of its former significance is the gorgeous 13th century Church of the Holy Trinity.
Neighbouring Wensley is Leyburn that has a far bigger commercial centre that has a real buzz about it on Fridays when Market Place is full of stallholders. It is an attractive town built around three squares, featuring many fine Georgian buildings.
Constable Burton Hall Gardens, is a lovely woodland garden full of lillies, roses, wild flowers and ferns. If your a keen gardener or have a love for flowers this place is ideal. It's a perfect place to relax and take in the beauty around you.
