Harrogate & Knaresborough are both delightful North Yorkshire towns. Harrogate came to prominence in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, when it developed into a fashionable spa town. These days the town offers lovely architecture, upmarket shops and an array of attractive parklands and gardens. Knaresborough has a very dramatic setting in a gorge created by the River Nidd, and the towns buildings are perched on the steep sided North Bank. Some of the best views of the town are to be had from the aptly named High Bridge.
