York station is located within a few minutes’ walk of the city centre and the walls. This is a staffed station and tickets and information can be obtained from the booking office, open 05:30 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday, 07:30 to 22:00 Sunday.

Frequent trains are available to London, Edinburgh, Manchester and the rest of the UK. Special buses from run from outside the train station to York Racecourse on race days.

Northallerton Railway Station

Northallerton Station is about 10 mins walk to town centre.

A mainline station with intercity trains on the London to Edinburgh line. Regular trains are also available to Manchester and the rest of the UK.

Thirsk Station is half a mile from the local racecourse and just over a mile to the town centre on Station Road - the A61 to Ripon.
