The York Dungeons are a major attraction situated in the heart of York’s city centre.

The Dungeons take visitors back in time re-visiting the darker sides of York’s history including a tour around the plague-ravaged streets of 14th century York, how the disease spread and the desperate methods used to fight the plague. Guests are able to watch Guy Fawkes gunpowder plot unfold, the ‘Witch Trials’ of the 16th and 17th century, and not to forget the Vikings.

  • The York Dungeons are an excellent day out for the family, making York’s colourful history come back to life. However this is not for the faint hearted….you never know what may be lurking around the corner. Enter at your peril.
