The A1(M) runs north-south through the region, providing fast road links to London and Scotland for all the towns and cities including Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Northallerton, Thirsk and York. The M62 accessed further south down the A19 gives access to the Port of Hull in the east and both Manchester and Liverpool to the west.
