The Calder Valley is bursting with wool mills, and the workers’ cottages line the steep sided hills. The lovely village of Heptonstall has been engaged in the weaving trade since the 13th century, and evidence of its long history is all around. Hebden Bridge is another attractive, historic centre, and Halifax boasts the grand 18th century Piece Hall, as well as the Eureka! Museum for Children.
