Until 1888 the Yorkshire-Lancashire border divided the town of Todmorden, which had a foot in both camps by participating in both the wool and cotton trades, which is depicted on a pediment on the grand civic Town Hall.
Situated on the fringes of the Pennines in a landscape navigated by canals it is a favourite with walkers, cyclists and canal enthusiasts.
Todmorden is home to the Losang Dragpa Centre, a Buddhist college and meditation centre. Weather your experienced or beginner everyone is welcome at the college, they teach easy-to-use methods that are suitable for everyone.
