Industrial West Yorkshire is easy to travel to by plane, train or car from the UK or overseas. Check out our guide to Leeds FC for details of how to travel to the ground by public transport and driving instructions to Elland road.

To fly to the Industrial West Yorkshire area, Leeds Bradford has loads of cheap flights to Europe and the UK. Manchester, 60 miles away and Birmingham, 120 miles, are the closest main hub airports to the area for transatlantic and long haul flights.

Ferries to mainland Europe sail from the Port of Hull approximately 65 miles east of Leeds.

There are good road links from the north and south along the M1 or from the east and west along the M62.

Mainline intercity rail links make train travel from Leeds to London and the rest of the UK easy.

Metro (the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and Authority) provides extensive bus, rail and super tram services in Leeds and throughout the West Yorkshire area. Most public transport is subsidised.
