To the north of Spurn Head is the attractive holiday town of Hornsea, which nestles between Yorkshire’s largest lake, Hornsea Mere, and the North Sea. The mere was formed when the glaciers of the Ice Age melted and is now a centre for yachting and a nature reserve.
In the town centre is the award winning Hornsea Museum, which tells of local history and includes some early examples of the celebrated Hornsea Pottery.
Hornsea Freeport is a shopping and leisure village offering retail and leisure facilities which contains fantastic shopping including Laura Ashley, Warner, The Suite Company and Tog 24.
