The Pennington family have been living at Muncaster since at least 1208. Three generations currently live in the castle, and are actively involved in day to day operations at Muncaster.
The castle, complete with an impressive library, beautiful barrel-vaulted drawing room and exquisite dining room, is a treasure trove of paintings, silver, tapestries and so much more. Muncaster is a brilliant building for impressively entertaining in style and frequently hosts weddings, formal dinners and similar family celebrations or corporate events.
A suite of 9 bedrooms are available for individual or group bookings in the castle itself. 3 large holiday houses on the wider estate add an additional 16 bedrooms to the portfolio.
"Ghost tours" are possible by appointment, and up to 8 brave guests can book an overnight "Ghost sit" in the reputedly haunted Tapestry Room.
