The Lake District National Park is one of the most stunningly beautiful - and so heavingly popular - regions in Britain. Great stretches of water such as Windermere and Coniston punctuate a landscape of rolling green dales and majestic craggy mountains. 2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.
