Borrowdale is truly a beautiful place. It lies in the shadow of the tallest mountains in England and sits at the end of the equally picturesque Derwent Water.
Nearby is the scenic Ashness Bridge and equally pretty Watendlath. Ashness Bridge is one of the most photographed views in the Lake District. Avoid the crowd so go in the early morning or evening that way the sunrise or sunset will make your photograph.
The quaint village of Grange is another charming quarter that leads neatly to the well-worn Bowder Stone, a 1900-ton piece of rock that is climbed with a ladder.
