Lancashire was once the centre of the coal and cotton trade at the heart of the Industrial Revolution. Mills can be seen all over the county in towns such as Bolton, Blackburn, and Rochdale, birthplace of the Co-Operative Movement. Blackpool is the typical English seaside resort with all you’d expect. For great countryside, the Ribble Valley and attractive town of Clitheroe are worth exploring. Roman Lancaster is also an attractive Georgian town and the Isle of Man, home to the famous TT Race, has some good coastline and hills.
