Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve is a tranquil reservoir situated on Blackpool’s urban fringe. The nature reserve is important for nature conservation, quiet recreation and environmental education.
The reserve is nationally recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its bird populations. It has a wonderful habitat of important species which include butterflies, dragonflies and stunning orchids.
The reserve provides a walking track that surrounds the park and is enjoyed by many visitors. Wildlife watching is superb and you’ll get to discover numerous bird watching hides.
