I have visited salford quays a couple of times and been taken away by the design of the Lowry Centre, the War Museum and the new NVR flats. Plenty of places to eat and all close by the water. It is also home to the new Media City : UK development site for 5 departments of the BBC. Actual visible development started in June and the first full sized crane went up yesterday. Judging by the pace of the development and the fact that aspects of the first building (3-4 storeys) are already in place, the pace of construction is quite impressive to complete by 2010/11.
