The best B&B in a long time!

Posted by maggie1 from Windsor, United Kingdom

I cant believe the review on this Bed & Breakfast dated 11th Aug 2008.
Myself and my husband were shocked and disgusted at the comments made by this "lady". We were one of the families with young children who were staying at Drumgart B&B on the same night as this lady and her "partner!".
The noise and behaviour coming from their room was most innapropriate as i eventually had to ask the proprietor to kindly ask them to keep the noise down as it was 12.20am. Eventually at around 3.30am all went quiet. As we were leaving the premises the next morning the innapropriate noises from the above said couples room started again!!!
WELL DONE Drumgart for handling this situation in a professional manner. Obviously "JThe lady and her partner" had no respect for your home or any other guests staying at your very welcoming and homely B&B. We most certainly will return and have already reccommended you to friends and family.

Not Friendly

Posted by julie stevens from Carrickfergus, United Kingdom

I booked to stay at Drumgart for 2 nights in August, everything looked fine until we arrived. I did explain that we would arrive late as my flight was late from the UK, my partner lives near Drumgart which is lucky because of the way we got treated. We got there about 9.30 and by the time we unpacked it was about 11.00 so we decided just to go to bed. We sat up talking and watching T.V. then we had a knock on the door asking us to be quiet which we found strange as we were not making a noise. Then the next morning we were served breakfast which was average! the we went back to our room, then we had yet another knock on our door to be told we had only booked for one night not two and had to leave. I told him we had booked for two but he told me NO we had only booked for one, I told I have an email at work confirming this but he was not interested and told us to leave. I could not belive the way we were treated. We have never had this happen before and have stayed at many places around Ireland.

Excellent for children

Posted by Musa from Telford, United Kingdom

Some places say children welcome, but are only playing lip service, here they truly are welcome. The owners are so welcoming and friendly it was amazing. The breakfast was superb, you don't need to eat for the rest of the day. The beds are made for you every day, towels are replaced, tea and coffee replenished. If you are looking for a run of the mill b & b, don't stay here. If you want something a little bit special, but without the big price tag then stay here.

Celebrate - The National Poet of Scotland

Robert Burns

2009 marks the 250th anniversary of Scottish poet Robert Burns' birth. Burns was a poet and a lyricist and is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland.

The Burns Supper was started a few years after his death by a group of his friends; they held the supper to honour and remember Burns. The tradition caught on and the ritual of Burns Supper is now held all around the world.

His life and work will be celebrated throughout the year at many Burns-related events.
