  • Mainline rail links to London and the rest of the UK plus local train services around Stirling, Bannockburn, Fife and St Andrew's area are excellent. All regional trains are operated by Scotrail.
  • The main hub stations for train travel to Fife are Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow which provide rail connections to towns and cities across Scotland and England.

    Scotrail operate overnight sleeper train services between London Euston and Scotland. For example to Falkirk Grahamston from London Euston takes just under 8 hours. Choose between single/ twin berth cabins or high quality reclining seats.

    St. Andrews has no train station of its own; the closest is Leuchars station. Railbus is a through ticket scheme that covers travel by train to Leuchars station, then on by bus to St. Andrews, using bus services 93, 94, 94A, 95, 96 or 96A, operated by Stagecoach in Fife Buses.
