The Scottish Railway Exhibition tells the story of Scotland's railways through the years, and contains just some of the wagons, carriages and locomotives in the care of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society at Bo'ness.
Notable items on show include steam locomotive NB256 'Glen Douglas', a Great North of Scotland Royal Saloon coach and two carefully restored Caledonian Railway Coaches.
The Exhibition contains a major display on the 'Making, Running and Using of Scotland's Railways' in photographs, words and artefacts. The railwayana on view ranges from the practical, such as guard's lamps, signalling and telegraph equipment, to the decorative, such as staff uniforms and railway-badged cutlery and china. The display includes photographs of the railways under construction and in the heyday of their use.
