Kingussie & Newtonmore

Despite being fairly small (neighbouring) villages, Kingussie and Newtonmore have some popular attractions and are worth the stop when exploring the Strathspey Valley.

The major drawcard is the Highland Folk Museum, which is lovingly split between the two towns.

This is no ordinary, dusty display cabinet kind of place. You will be pleasantly surprised with the extensive viewing on offer in both locations, so set aside a day.

  • Although life here may seem all love and peace, watch out for the bitter rivalry on the shiny field (a game similar to hockey).
