Being the only "city” in the Highlands, Inverness is a busy and happening location with tonnes of appealing urban things to do.
Like other major centres in the Scotland, the exquisitely beautiful scenery is not particularly found within the centre of Inverness.
Best suggestion is to set up camp here, spend a few days gazing the extraordinary historic relics such St Andrews Episcopal Cathedral and then explore the surrounding must-see destinations!
Day-trippers are in heaven with the extensive public transport network in Inverness, granting easy access to some of the region's best castles, historic sites and stretches of long white sandy beaches.
